What happens if a security or fire alarm is triggered at your premises? Do you have a procedure to investigate and take the necessary action? Keyholding is a security service that can relieve the stress and worry of attending to these incidents yourself.
What is Keyholding?
Keyholding is a security process where a dedicated person or security company has a set of keys (and access codes) to a premises and is ready to respond in the event of a security incident. The ‘dedicated person’ could be the business owner or an employee, while the security company is an external provider. Both options have advantages, but working with a specialist security provider, like Chubb, is much more beneficial to your business.
How does Keyholding work?
If you choose to keep Keyholding in-house, the designated person is responsible for responding to security or fire alarm activations, no matter what time of day. If you partner with Chubb, we will respond to all out-of-hours activations. Initially, we will carry out an assessment of your premises. This assessment will help us to thoroughly understand your location, all the points of access, locations of windows, positions of coded or key-lock doors and gates, and the perimeter of your building. Once we have completed the assessment, we will collect a set of keys for the building, along with entry point access codes and internal alarm codes (if applicable). We will always store your keys and codes safely and securely and only use them when we need to respond to an incident. Using our Keyholding service offers you the considerable benefit of having a trained, reliable security provider responding to incidents immediately, eliminating the risk to you and your employees and potentially saving your business money.
Always connected with Chubb visiON+
At Chubb, Keyholding forms part of our Chubb visiON+ suite of remote monitoring services designed for increased connectivity, responsiveness and overall peace of mind. If an alarm is activated at your premises out-of-hours, our monitoring centre operatives respond immediately to assess the situation. Acting quickly to activate the agreed response procedure means we can prevent incidents from escalating into something much more severe and damaging for your business. Being connected gives us the ability to determine whether activations are genuine. The capability to filter out false alarms means we are not wasting time or resources by attending unnecessary call-outs. This also means we are not wasting the valuable time of the emergency services.
Your safety is our priority
Having one of our highly trained, dedicated, and licensed security personnel attend an incident means you don’t have to. That means no more getting up in the middle of the night to respond to what could be a false alarm or worrying about working away or taking annual leave. Our Keyholding service offers a hassle-free solution that protects you and your employees from potential risk. A whole host of incidents could potentially be dangerous if you are untrained and unprepared. But we are prepared and well-equipped to deal with every scenario. If there are intruders on the premises, we can call on the assistance of the police. If a fire has broken out, then we have the aid of the fire service.
We can help you save money
Our remote monitoring service can minimise the impact of incidents on your business. For example, our team can be on-site within minutes rather than hours, which could be the difference between burglars making off with high-value items or leaving empty-handed. If burglars were to leave with all your valuable equipment, how much disruption would this cause to your business? It could mean no income until those items are replaced and replacing them may have to come out of your own pocket or via an insurance claim –bumping up insurance premiums. Then there are those worst-case scenarios, incidents such as fires or floods. What would you do if you went to work in the morning for your premises to be completely flooded because of a burst water pipe? Our remote monitoring service will detect this, and our security team will react with the appropriate action to prevent it from getting any worse.
