Chubb celebrated 200 years of service with key customers at Westminster Abbey, where Chubb has provided protection for over 40 years. Chubb is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The customer event was held in the ancient open galleries of the East Cloister, Westminster Abbey, the coronation church since 1066 and the resting place of more than 330 great Britons. Customers enjoyed refreshments, a string quartet and guided tours of this iconic venue.
Westminster Abbey has been a long-standing customer of Chubb and Mark Pettit, director of strategy and business development at Chubb, said it was the ideal place to celebrate two centuries of protecting the world:
“We are extremely proud to be protecting such a prestigious landmark venue, and it is an honour to mark this important milestone at Westminster Abbey. The event was a great success, and an excellent opportunity for us to thank our customers for their continued support.”
In 1818, two enterprising brothers, Charles and Jeremiah Chubb, invented the first and original secure lock mechanism – an innovation that started the security industry and cemented the brand’s focus on innovation, safety, security and customer peace of mind. Today, Chubb is a globally recognised fire and security service business, building on the legacy of its founding fathers, with advancements that continue to make its technology and service solutions essential in an ever-changing world.
