Tracey Cordes, managing director, Chubb Fire & Security UK, Norman Tozer, former general manager, and Mark Dibbens, general manager, Plymouth branch, attending #Chubb200 celebrations at National Marine Aquarium.
Norman Tozer was the original branch manager for Chubb Plymouth when it opened in 1968, 50 years ago. He reflected on how the industry has transformed over the last 50 years:
“I remember a time when fire safety involved little more than a bucket of sand and a basic water extinguisher. Today, we have high-technology fire detection, alarm, suppression and extinguishing systems that protect Chubb’s customers, people and property 24/7.”
Mark Dibbens, Chubb Plymouth’s current branch manager, said the event was an enormous success:
“The feedback we received was fantastic. Experts spoke not only about the latest technologies and industry news, but also about Chubb’s apprentice scheme and how local young people from Plymouth are benefitting.
“I particularly enjoyed spending time with Norman Tozer. His insight was fascinating and his attendance was a great way to look back at Chubb’s history and celebrate this important bicentenary year.”
