Chubb is pleased to announce the award of a major multi-year contract to deliver the Instrumentation and Electrical Systems (IES) design for Sizewell C, one of the UK’s most important low-carbon energy infrastructure projects. The contract represents a significant achievement for the business and reinforces Chubb’s established capability in delivering complex engineering solutions within highly regulated environments.

Supporting the UK’s Low-Carbon Ambitions
Sizewell C is being developed as a close replica of Hinkley Point C, enabling the project to benefit from proven designs, established methodologies, and lessons learned from previous delivery. This approach is expected to create efficiencies in time, cost, and programme certainty. Once complete, the power station will provide reliable, low-carbon electricity to millions of homes and contribute to the UK’s energy-security and net-zero objectives.

A Partnership Based on Clarity and Early Engagement
Chubb’s involvement began with an initial phase focused on data validation, expectation setting, and scope definition. This early clarity has helped create a strong foundation for the full programme.

Under the newly signed 9.5-year contract, Chubb will be responsible for:
• Design of the IES System
• Manufacture and procurement of IES equipment
• Installation, commissioning, and setting to work of the IES System
• Coordination with delivery partners and co-contractors across associated electrical design packages

Delivering Engineering Excellence
The IES system is a critical component of a nuclear power station’s operational technology, supporting safe operation, monitoring, diagnostics, and adherence to stringent nuclear standards. Chubb’s selection for this work reflects the organisation’s proven technical expertise, its experience at Hinkley Point C, and its strong commitment to quality and compliance.

A Collective Achievement
This contract reflects the coordinated effort of teams across Chubb who have contributed expertise throughout the pre-contract and negotiation stages.

Particular recognition goes to Michael Bradley, Interface Manager, whose leadership and coordination played a central role in reaching this milestone.

Adding his perspective on the achievement, David Blezard, Director of Chubb Systems, said: “Securing the IES electrical design contract for Sizewell C is a significant achievement for our business. It recognises the strength of our engineering capability, our proven performance at Hinkley Point C, and the commitment of our teams to deliver work of the highest standard. We are proud to support a project that will play such an important role in the UK’s energy future.”

This success highlights the dedication, professionalism, and technical excellence demonstrated by teams across the organisation, setting a strong foundation for the programme ahead.

Looking Ahead
Securing the IES electrical design contract for Sizewell C strengthens Chubb’s position within the UK nuclear sector and demonstrates continued confidence in the business’s engineering capability. As the programme progresses, Chubb will remain focused on high quality delivery and supporting the UK’s long-term clean energy ambitions.-quality delivery and supporting
