The children of two employees from Chubb’s Manchester office have been named winners of the Chubb 200 festive digital e-card competition, organised for the first time this year in celebration of Chubb’s 200-year anniversary*. Chubb, a leading provider of security and fire-safety solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The competition was open to all children of employees working at Chubb, and provided parents the opportunity to bring in their children during school holidays to design their festive e-card in a group. The children were tasked with creating a design around fire safety that included a celebration of Chubb’s 200-year anniversary.
The winning cards were chosen for their bold depictions of festive fire safety and original celebratory themes. The winners received £100 bonus bond vouchers.
Nicola Morton, the customer service manager at the Fire National Accounts in Manchester, said it was a great competition that provided a lovely way to include employee’s family in the Chubb 200 celebrations: “The children were perfectly behaved, helping each other out with ideas and having a great time. I am extremely pleased that both prizes have been won from our office – it’s great to see the fruits of such an enjoyable day, and to see children actively engaging in fire safety.”
Nicola Nelson, corporate account executive and mother of the 5-10 year old category winner (pictured below) said she was over the moon to hear her son had won: “He’s always been very enthusiastic about arts and crafts and absolutely loved coming into the office for the day – it was a great opportunity to talk about fire safety,” she said. “We’re going to have a movie and sweet night to celebrate this evening, and tomorrow he can spend his vouchers in his favourite shop however he chooses!
Mother of the 11-16 year old category, Viki Davies, key account manager, said she is so, so proud of her daughter (pictured below): “I genuinely love working for Chubb, and talk about work quite a bit at home. So it was really great for my daughter to put a face to the names and she had a great day with the others. I’m so chuffed she won, and can’t wait to tell her. I’m pretty sure she will be spending her winnings on bath bombs and toiletries!”
