Falkirk Council Delivering Improved User-centred Care Thanks to Cloud Care Control
By Chubb | 22nd November 2024
Project Overview
In 2023, Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) made a significant leap forward with its user-centred care by transitioning to Chubb Cloud Care Control. This upgrade replaced outdated hardware and marked a milestone in Falkirk’s journey to digital transformation. By adopting cloud technology, Falkirk HSCP ensured the resilience of their emergency care services and elevated the safety of their most vulnerable residents.
The transition included the introduction of innovative features, such as predictive analytics and enhanced disaster recovery capabilities, making Falkirk one of Scotland’s most forward-thinking councils in digital care.
Customer Needs
Faced with aging hardware and an increasing demand for reliable telecare services, Falkirk HSCP needed a system that not only met their immediate technological needs but also positioned them for future innovation. As part of their digital strategy, the Council sought a solution that would enhance their disaster recovery processes and ensure seamless service delivery without the need for physical infrastructure.
The growing reliance on telecare, coupled with the increasing use of diverse digital devices, required a flexible, cloud-based platform to safeguard service users and provide peace of mind to their families.
Solution and Benefits
Falkirk HSCP transitioned to the Chubb Cloud Care Control platform, a cloud-based system that seamlessly integrates with more diverse technologies, supporting a broader range of alarms and digital devices. This platform not only removed the need for physical disaster recovery infrastructure but also provided enhanced data management capabilities, enabling faster response times and reducing operational risks.
One of the most significant improvements was in data integrity. The transition included a comprehensive data cleanse that streamlined Falkirk’s user database, removing outdated records and reducing the risk of errors. This improvement allowed call handlers to provide quicker, more reliable service and ensured that every alarm activation was accurately linked to a user’s record.
The platform also introduced innovative features such as SMS alerts to next of kin when alarms are triggered. This feature reduced the load on call handlers and improved transparency and communication with family members. Furthermore, the system’s “bring your own device” approach allowed integration with Amazon’s Alexa, enabling service users to stay independent for longer through voice-activated assistance.
Predictive Analytics
Looking ahead, Falkirk HSCP is focusing on predictive analytics, using data trends to anticipate service user needs and proactively address potential issues. This forward-thinking approach is expected to enhance Falkirk’s ability to provide more personalised care, ensuring that service users remain safe and secure in their homes.
